Just to clarify....
We're allowing some slight variants. The 3 major tache groups are:
Standard
Handlebar
Fu-Manchu
Now, handlebars are commonly incorrectly labelled. Handlebar tache's by definition sprout purely horizontal. The ones that grow vertically past the lips is a Fu-Manchu. This must not grow past the jaw.
Remember, this isn't about looking cool, this is about a moustache. It's a game of stamina and overcoming the odds. Hell if it looked sexy we'd all have tache's.
IMPORTANT - you must also respect the tache commitee. If we feel your tache breeches the rules, you may be asked to adjust accordingly. Don't take this personally, but there has to be guidelines for us all. Our decision is final. Respect our authoriti.
Look, your wife/partner isn't gonna like this, and it's where you'll feel the most pressure from. Throughtout the month of August, you'll hear comments such as:
"Honey, you know I love you, but you look a twat. Enough's enough".
This may be accompanied with:
"My mother is visiting this weekend, get rid of that ridiculous thing on your lip"
When all this invariably fails, you may hear something along the lines of:
"Darling, I love you, please shave that thing off, you're just not as sexy as you used to be".
Let me tell you something. She's wrong. Don't be fooled by her female trickery and emotional blackmail. Be strong brothers.
On the 31st of August, there will be a coming together of all warriors who have overcome the odds to grow a noble tache. We'll have a few beers and feel very proud of ourselves.
Remember, last year at least half the field failed to make the distance and shaved in a moment of weakness. They were distraught afterwards. Don't make the same mistake....
